On September 10, 2018, the Liepaja Municipal Education Department took over the ZINOO Center at 4/6 Autoru Street, Liepaja. With the introduction of new educational programs and the development of new services, on 15 May 2019, the Liepaja ZINOO Center was renamed the Science and Education Innovation Center (ZIIC) and completely terminated its obligations with the ZINOO Center, becoming an independent structural unit of the Liepaja Municipal Education Department. Since then, the center has been hosting classes for children and teachers, organising various thematic events and the exhibit hall is open to visitors.
On August 27, 2020, the Science and Education Innovation Center opened the second building – the Nature House on Zirgu sala, Liepaja. The Nature House is an environmental and nature education center that can be visited by groups of students and others interested in applying for excursions to explore natural processes in an exciting and engaging way.
