Zoology Under the Magnifying Glass

Zoology is a science, a branch of biology that studies animals. The animal kingdom is a very large group of multicellular organisms that are able to move, respond to the environment that feeds on other organisms. The diversity of animals is enormous and there are many species that cannot be seen with the naked eye. Therefore, various magnifying tools, such as magnifiers and microscopes, are used in research.

During the lesson, students have the opportunity to take a closer look at the smallest living organisms in the vicinity of Horse Island and the lake. Pupils gain experience in the research process by collecting living organisms and using a variety of tools, observing the environment and working with magnifying glass or microscopes to learn about the diversity of the animal kingdom, from insects, molluscs, crustaceans, arachnids and even zooplankton.
