Birds are one of the typical inhabitants of the lake, who are often both seen and heard on Horse Island near the Nature House. Lake Liepaja is an important passage, nesting and feeding place for birds. Understanding of bird research allows the student to form a more complete idea of the importance of preserving natural diversity and the contribution of birds to the maintenance of a healthy ecosystem. During the lesson, students have the opportunity to find out what are the species of birds living in Lake Liepaja, what are their characteristics, structure and behavior. In the lesson, students experience the role of a bird researcher, get acquainted with inventions inspired by birds, listen to the voices of birds, observe birds using optical research tools such as binoculars and a telescope.
