Some geographically defined areas are specially protected in order to preserve their natural diversity. The Nature House is also located in one of them – the nature reserve ” Lake Liepaja”. It is important to understand why such protected areas are necessary, why biodiversity is important to all of us, and how the loss of natural diversity can affect our quality of life in the long run. In the lesson, students will get acquainted with various processes taking place in nature, their significance through unique, interactive installations of the Nature House, using different senses – sight, hearing, touch, smell. During the walk, students will learn about the geographical and historical significance of Horse Island and Lake Liepaja.
