Botany is the science of plants, their structure, properties, applications. Everybody encounters botany on a daily basis – plants are used in food, housing, clothing, dyes, medicine, etc. Understanding of botany allows the student to form a more complete picture of the importance of preserving natural diversity, the importance of plants in maintaining a healthy ecosystem. During the lesson, students get an idea of what a botanist is and what they do on a daily basis. In the lesson, students take the role of a plant researcher with the help of a magnifying glass and a microscope – they look at the structure of the plant, study and search for differences in different plants, observe the differences in the soil in which the plant grows. Together they are looking for an answer where plants take colors to color our natural world.
