In the lesson, students feel the role of a geographer and a cartographer – they get an idea of the map, types of maps, topographic markings. Students search for treasures on Horse Island with a help of compass, orient themselves in the surrounding area, and make observations and measurements of the area to create their own, simplified map of a small area of Horse Island.
